Hotel Reveries Diving Village
Following the outstanding success of Maldivian tourism in recent decades, Reveries Diving Village Gan Island was among the first hotels to allow guests to experience the beautiful beaches and reefs alongside the warmth and vibrancy of Dhivehi culture.
Seven years ago, Reveries Diving Village proudly opened its doors as Laamu's first guesthouse, in the heart of the atoll. Following the incredible success of the Maldives’ single-island resort model over the previous four decades, new legislation opened up the prospect of guest accommodation options within local island communities.
The aim was to invite the world to experience the culture and beauty of Dhivehi island society at an affordable price, while spreading the economic benefit of tourism to small island communities.
The pioneering venture found its home on Gan, the longest island in the country, at the northern end of the Thundi village. From here, Reveries has gone from strength to strength, combining vibrant island culture and stunning natural environment with comfort and luxury for guests who wish to sample all the Maldives has to offer.
Facilities
Reveries’ reception area, main dining area, pool table, gift shop and bungalow villa are framed around the charming indoor/outdoor pool, greeting guests with an atmosphere of cool tranquility.
Outside, the private garden is great for relaxing on a swing-seat by the fish pond, for table tennis, or dinner. Past the gate, the on-site dive centre sits opposite watersports, mocktails, and incredible sunsets on the spacious private beach.
Back inside, the rooms occupy two floors, below the gym, spa and rooftop terrace which offer further scenic options for recreation and dining, as does the exclusive coffee shop, Cafe 20.
